Interns and fellows: a summer with Greenwise

Daina and Tre'von tour the organic bio-digestor facility at American River Packaging with Warren Smith from Clean World Parners.

Like many small nonprofit organizations, Greenwise Joint Venture has a lot of work to do and a small staff to make it happen.

That’s why we’re excited to host a number of fantastic summer fellows and interns. These young leaders are helping Greenwise take action on our signature projects.

Our 2012 summer fellows and interns come to us from around the country and across the world, and we are lucky to have them sharing their talents with us this year.

Say hello to…

Daina Paulikas

Daina Paulikas, Summer Fellow, Office of Mayor Kevin Johnson

Daina Paulikas is leading the effort to establish a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) to fund Green School Retrofits. She is excited to leverage her MBA skills and management expertise in the Defense sector to create win-wins between public funders and school improvement projects.

Daina is halfway through the Master of Business Administration program at Harvard Business School, where she volunteered with Sustainable Endowments Institute–a green school revolving fund nonprofit. Prior to business school, Daina worked as an engineer and product manager building laser weapons and army systems at Northrop Grumman. She also founded a tech startup and wrote real-time order routing software for derivatives trading.

Daina holds a Bachelor of Science in physics from the California Institute of Technology. When she’s not building lasers, Daina loves being adventurous and outdoorsy, playing sports, traveling, and watching copious amounts of television.
