Cap-to-Cap: Clean/Green team recap
By Julia Burrows
Over the past 41 years the Sacramento Metro Chamber has led a delegation from Sacramento to Washington D.C. to lobby Congress, committee staff and federal agency representatives on issues important to economic growth in the Sacramento area.
And for the past four years, the delegation has included a Clean/Green Team to advocate for policies and funding to support the green economy in our region.
Clean/green Cap-to-Cap team successful in 2012

Some of the Sacramento Metro Chamber's Clean/Green Team in 2012
In 2012 the Clean/Green team was co-chaired by myself and SARTA CEO Meg Arnold. Our 24-person team carried eight issue papers, participated in 21 meetings (in three days!), and made numerous contacts for future support of Sacramento’s green economy.
Key agency meetings were held with the White House Business Council, the Federal Housing Finance Authority, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Office of Governor Brown, the Department of Defense, and the Council on Environmental Quality with Chair Nancy Sutley.
Congresswoman Doris Matsui hosted a stellar meeting specifically for the Clean/Green Team with special guest Steven Chalk, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Renewable Energy.
Congressional staff from Congressman McClintock, Congressman Herger, Congressman Thompson and Senator Boxer’s office made time to meet with our team regarding issues specific to the green economy, and Congressman Lungren himself hosted the Clean/Green team for an informational discussion.
